Streamlined installations strengthen Vlaamse Waterweg’s network in Belgium

De Vlaamse Waterweg operates the waterways as an integrated network, strengthening the economy, infrastructure, and quality of life in Flanders. In 2021, SPIE Belgium took a significant step by developing a new power supply installation, contributing to sustainable energy management and improved logistics along the waterways.

For this initiative, SPIE selected Regin’s partner, Energoo, to oversee the technical renovation of critical infrastructure elements, including the boiler room, switchboards, substations, air handlers, and room controls.

The solution was built on Regin’s freely programmable control equipment, ideal for the project’s complexity. With the web-based building management platform Arrigo, Vlaamse Waterveg now has comprehensive monitoring, management, and control capabilities for all its HVAC installations.

SPIE Project manager, Ive Schildermans, emphasized the benefits of the collaboration.

“The freely programmable nature of Regin controllers was decisive in getting this project operational again from a technical standpoint. Energoo provided the complete technical solution, from operational description, panel construction, cabling, field device connection, room control, and programming to commissioning, which greatly simplified the collaboration for us. The project was completed successfully and professionally”.
