Complete control of energy use at ACV Office sites in Antwerp

The General Christian Trade Union (ACV), Belgium’s largest trade union with 1.5 million members, advocates for better working conditions and provides extensive services to both employed and unemployed individuals. To optimize energy usage and HVAC control at its office sites in the Antwerp province, ACV recently signed a technical maintenance contract with Regin’s partner Energoo.

ACV’s offices in Mechelen and Antwerp were already equipped with Regin’s freely programmable control equipment, managed through the Arrigo Building Management System. As part of recent upgrades, GPRS data loggers were installed across 19 sites to automatically collect data from energy and water meters. This data is now gathered in the web-based Arrigo Energy Management System, giving ACV comprehensive oversight of its energy usage.

Bart Michielsen, Coordinator of Finance and Logistics at ACV Antwerp province, commented.

"Initially, we wanted to map out the energy consumption of our offices in the Antwerp province, and Energoo provided a simple and effective solution with Regin’s EMS in Arrigo”.

“We are very satisfied with the connection of our larger HVAC installations at ACV Mechelen and ACV Antwerp to Arrigo, so this was a logical expansion of the system. By understanding the detailed energy profiles of our sites, we can implement the right energy-saving measures at specific locations and accurately assess their impact”.

To maintain system efficiency, ACV has engaged Energoo for annual technical inspections of the HVAC systems. The partnership includes a detailed yearly report on system testing, enabling proactive maintenance and reducing the risk of breakdowns.

“At ACV Turnhout, we will soon be implementing PV panels and transitioning the boiler room control to Regin equipment. We look forward to continuing long-term collaboration to make our offices as energy efficient as possible”, Bart Michielsen concludes.
