Hi Sofie, you are the new Finance Manager at AB Regin. Tell us a bit about yourself!
My name is Sofie, and I reside in Onsala just outside Gothenburg. I will be stepping into the role of Finance Manager at AB Regin at the beginning of December. I hold a degree in economics from the Gothenburg School of Business, Economics, and Law. Throughout my career, I’ve held various positions in financial management, most recently as the Finance Manager at Thorlabs Sweden AB. Before that, I worked in roles related to controlling, risk management, and auditing, with organizations such as PwC and Platzer Fastigheter.
Why did you choose to join Regin, and what does your new role as Finance Manager involve?
Regin is currently undergoing an exciting phase of expansion, and I look forward to being part of the journey, and embracing whatever challenges and opportunities it brings. The company also has a unique opportunity to grow, with a product portfolio that aligns perfectly with today’s focus on energy efficiency and environmental responsibility. In my role as Finance Manager, I will take on the overall responsibility for financial management and accounting. Additionally, I will manage the financial reporting, both externally and internally, for the Swedish companies within the group.
What prior experiences will you bring to the role of Finance Manager?
With many years of experience in accounting, auditing, and internal control, I have a broad knowledge base to build upon. In my professional capacity, I am deeply process-oriented, and motivated to identify ways to optimize company processes and internal workflows. As a controller, I have focused on meticulous monitoring and analysis. Thanks to my experience in reporting, I have a strong understanding of how to effectively steer and optimize operations using relevant key performance indicators.
What driving forces and goals do you have in your professional role?
My motivation lies in supporting companies on their journey towards improvement. In a world that is constantly changing, business must evolve in sync with these changes. I am convinced that there is always room for fine-tuning in the processes of operations to achieve continuous improvement. The belief that well-being and collaboration in the workplace automatically lead to positive outcomes is strong, although, of course, it requires effort from everyone in the team. Becoming part of Regin’s professional and experienced team and working together towards common goals is something I look forward to.
