The history of Regin Group traces back to Gothenburg in 1947 when Erik Haglund and Axel Jones purchased the rights to a humidistat. Under the name Regin, they completely redesigned it and introduced it to the market as HMH – a simple, stable humidistat that later became a massive international success and continues to be manufactured and used today.
In 1967, the Plüth family from Rheine began optimizing energy consumption in buildings. This marked the inception of DEOS AG, which would later become an important part of the Regin Group. The company initially operated as a wholesaler of boilers, controls, pumps, and accessories with analog control technology. Today, they have evolved into a robust BACnet engineering company, offering smart solutions for building automation.
In 1981, the company Industrietechnik was founded, later becoming an important part of the Regin Group. The company's first product was a protection thermostat. Today, they offer a wide range of field products necessary for HVAC/R applications.
In the early 2000s, Regin acquired three companies over ten years: EXOmatic - possessing strong knowledge in system development, Riccius+Sohn – specializing in smart heating controllers and Osby Armatur – a pioneer in valve production.
In 2012, Regin acquired the product company Industrietechnik, thereby strengthening its position within the field of mechanical and electrical products.
In 2022, Regin acquired DEOS AG, enabling the group to enhance its range of freely programmable controllers with all relevant communication protocols, as well as Cloud/IoT and cybersecurity solutions.
In 2023, Regin acquired Allelektronik, which had been one of Regin’s key suppliers for many years as a contract manufacturer of electronics. This acquisition was important to strengthen the production capacity and shorten transportation to customers.
In 2024, the product brands Regin, DEOS, and Industrietechnik are united under the umbrella of Regin Group. Throughout the group, we are today working closely with property owners, integrators, and installers to develop intelligent solutions that are easy to configure, commission, and install. The joint offering, ranging from IoT platforms and software to freely programmable and pre-programmable controllers, and long-lasting field devices, is one of the strongest in the industry.
